I love the graphic name of this plant- 'red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning'
This hardy geranium has vivid purplish pink flowers in Summer amid spreading mats of dark green leaves forming a mound, height 15cm.
The flowers are marked with 'bee-lines' which draw the insects towards the centre where the nectar and pollen are situated.
The common name for these Geraniums is 'cranesbill' on account of their seed heads which some say resemble the long bills of cranes

  • grown in a 7cm square pot
  • holds an Award of Garden Merit for being a good gardenworthy plant.
  • Attractive to bees.
